What an awesome turnout to the 2023 Give A Ruck fundraiser! Thank you so much for all those whom participated in this event as well as all the volunteers. This event was successful because of YOU! We raised $4.5K towards Phase 1 building project at 1908 6th St, the future home for 25 homeless vets. We took in approximately 1500 lbs of donations that will be provided to our homeless community on June 16th at the Stand Down event.
Huge congratulations to the following folks:
5 mile
1st place Fabian Balderama
2nd place Mathew McCleoung
10 mile
1st place Walton
2nd place William Caglia
Most weight (backpack) at 55lbs
1st place team Hirschi JROTC
2nd place team Buffalos
The Buffalos came in 2nd place even after helping at a vehicle accident, with injuries. One of the vehicles came as close as 3 feet from April Johnson the team’s EMT. She dropped her pack and cut the airbag, pulled a teenager out and took care of him until medical arrived. The team was sure he was going to ICU. The rest of the team also dropped their packs and tended to the other victims till the ambulance got there. Then the team all picked up their packs and went back to the march. The Buffalos are a Safety Team from King’s Trail Cowboy Church in Whitewright, TX and all vets!!! God’s provision & timing was what this young man desperately needed.
Next year, 2024, there should be a rule that running is NOT allowed. Veterans know that running with a ruck destroys the knees. A “ruck” is NOT a run.
Thank you for your suggestion. I happen to be running it this year, so I will definitely look into this & make necessary changes. Thank you again for your continued support. Hope to see you at this years’ event on May 18, 2024.
Thanks for fantastic information. What trips can you recommend in 2024? Astro tourism, eco diving, home swapping, train stations are the new food destinations, sports tourism, coolcationing, gig tripping, private group travel?
Check out our upcoming 2024 Give A Ruck event on 18 May 2024 on our Event Page on Facebook.
Incredible! This blog looks exactly like my old one!
It’s on a entirely different subject but it has pretty much the same layout and design. Superb choice of colors!
Awesome thank you for your support!
